Thus begins this most intimate
portrait of the towns and peoples living, and who have lived, within the
pseudo-confines of Garfield County. This site will, basically, either link
or inform you as to the answer to just about any question you may formulate,
and as you may imagine, that number comes out around 50. Although this
page is far from complete, time will be spent over the Christmas vacation
in order to finish it. Also, this editing is being done using a Netscape
Navigator based html source, so colors and such many turn out strange on
a Mac, however if worse comes to worse I would be able to post this site
on my home server, rather than using the schools. On a personal note, my
name is Alex Ku. I have the privilege of being a US History student at
the local high school here in
Downers Grove, IL, a suburb outside of Chicago.
I live with my mother and two brothers, (one in college), in a 4 bedroom
abode, about one hour away from the great city. The first question that
must have appeared in the reader's mind would probably be "Why in
God's name would a student from Illinois ever endeavor to create a webpage
about Garfield County, Utah?" Well, the answer is quite interesting.
My teacher, Mr. Graham, has aspired to make a "Journey of Experience"
across the United States this next summer, 1999. Along the way, he will
be passing through around 110 different counties, each with its own wonders
and unique qualities. Garfield happens to be one of them. Although it may
seem dull at an initial viewing, Garfield County is covered with rich heritage
and comical anecdotes. The following information regarding this oasis in
the middle of Utah is divided into 8 individual groupings. Hopefully, you
can reap the benefits when this is completed.
