My
name is Kelly. I am a Sophomore at Downers Grove North High School.
In school, I enjoy participating in many of our school plays, and also
in Architecture club. Out of school I enjoy shopping and hanging
out with friends. My favorite movie is Lady
and the Tramp.
COUNTY INFORMATION
Alma
is the county seat of Harlan County. There are 545 sq. miles in Harlan
County. The population of my county is 3,810.
GEOGRAPHY
In June, July,
and August you are likely to experience nice warm weather anywhere from
77-90 degrees. There may also be variable rainfall. The land
in Harlan County is mostly barren prairie land, with almost no elevation
change.

HISTORY
In 1870, a group
of 40 pioneers settled in Harlan County. They were the first settlers.
The second group arrived in the summer of 1871. By 1879, the city
of Alma began to develop.

Harlan County's
main religion is Protestant, and some also practice the Catholic religion.
Harlan County is known for its low crime rate. During the months
of June, July, and August there are many festivals
and other fun gatherings.
