WASHINGTON COUNTY

My name is Katie and I am a sophomore at Downers Grove North Hight School. I was on the JV tennis team and am currently on the sophomore basketball team. I am also involved in Class Board, Student Council, and F.C.A. (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)
Outside of school I like to rollerblade, shop, and just hang out with my friends. I babysit often, and in the summer I help teach swim lessons to kids at my pool.

The only source of my information is Lee Zion, the chairperson of the Washington County, Colorado website. Lee gave me helpful information to several questions I asked her via email.

~ US 34 from Fort Morgan to the Nebraska State line follows the C.B. & Q (now Burlington - Santa Fe) RR that opened this part of the state to settlers.

~In June, July, and August, day time highs range from 85-100. Low humidity and afternoon thunderstorms (occasionally violent) are possible.
Night time lows will be 60-75.

Miscellaneous:
~ The best food will be found where the locals eat in Akron and Otis. Wherever the parking lots are full, that's where the best food will be found. There are no chain restaurants anywhere in Washington County.
~ US 34 west of Akron tends to be narrow. Road space is limited. US 34 has a breakdown lane that is suitable for bikes.
